SK Telecom (CEO and President Youngsang Yoo, www.sktelecom.com) won the grand prize in the CSR/ESG communication category at the ‘2021 Korea PR Awards’ hosted by the Korea PR Association on the 15th through the ESG campaign ‘WE_ING’ to support customers’ sustainable daily life.

For the development of PR activities, the Korea PR Association selects and awards successful PR cases every year in consideration of the professionalism, completeness, creativity, timeliness, and performance of PR activities. There are a total of 21 award categories, and ‘WE_ING’ won the CSR/ESG communication category.

‘WE_ING’ is a video campaign that shows SKT’s efforts to protect customers’ ‘sustainable daily life’. SKT’s ESG activities, which are representative ESG activities, shared growth, eco-friendliness, artificial intelligence, and mobility, were presented in a differentiated way by including examples of SKT’s ESG activities connected to real life.

The ‘WE_ING’ campaign received good reviews for easily approaching the public and forming a consensus by linking the concept of ESG, which can be difficult, with real life. This has led to a lot of customer engagement and contributed to raising public interest in ESG activities.

In fact, the ‘WE_ING’ video posted on SKT’s official YouTube channel exceeded 5.2 million views, and related posts were exposed more than 5.5 million times on Facebook and Instagram. In particular, it successfully achieved two-way communication with the public and ESG by recording more than 10,000 likes and 4,000 comments on social media.
