Nexon Foundation agrees to donate 10 billion won to build a public children’s rehabilitation hospital

The Nexon Foundation is once again contributing to the construction of a children’s rehabilitation hospital.

Nexon (CEO Jeong-heon Lee) announced on the 22nd that the Nexon Foundation (Chairman Jeong-wook Kim) signed a business agreement with Gyeongsangnam-do (Acting Governor Ha Byung-pil), Changwon-si (Mayor Seong-mu Huh), and Changwon Gyeongsang National University Hospital (Director Young-jun Lee) to establish Nexon Children’s Rehabilitation Hospital in Gyeongnam. They announced that they had agreed to donate 10 billion won to the fund.

Gyeongsangnam-do Nexon Children’s Rehabilitation Hospital, operated by Changwon Gyeongsang National University Hospital, is the first public children’s rehabilitation hospital in Gyeongsangnam-do, which is under construction in Namsan-dong, Seongsan-gu, Changwon-si, and aims to be completed in 2024. The hospital will be built on a total floor area of ​​7,888㎡ (about 2,386 pyeong) with one basement level and four above ground levels, and will have about 50 beds and various rehabilitation facilities.

The Nexon Foundation plans to donate 10 billion won to the hospital for three years from 2022. The donations are made with contributions from Nexon Korea and personal donations from Nexon founder Kim Jeong-ju.

Nexon Foundation Chairman Kim Jeong-wook said, “Nexon has been steadily participating in children’s rehabilitation and medical projects based on deep interest in children and adolescents. We will cooperate in many ways.”

Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Governor Ha Byung-pil said, “Gyeongnam Nexon Children’s Rehabilitation Hospital will become a rehabilitation base for children with disabilities that provide customized intensive treatment and educational care to about 13,000 children in Gyeongsangnam-do.” We will do our best to ensure that the hospital can be established and operated stably through the cooperation of the hospitals.”

On the other hand, the Nexon Foundation donated KRW 20 billion to establish the ‘Purme Foundation Nexon Children’s Rehabilitation Hospital’, Korea’s first children’s rehabilitation hospital, in 2014 based on continuous interest in the healthy future of children with disabilities. A total of 1.9 billion won was donated for rehabilitation treatment support and stable hospital operation.

In addition, in 2019 and 2020, 10 billion won each for the establishment of ‘Daejeon Chungnam Nexon Children’s Rehabilitation Hospital’, the first children’s rehabilitation hospital in the public sector, and ‘Seoul National University Hospital Nexon Children’s Palliative Medical Center’ (tentative name), the first independent children’s palliative care center in Korea. I have pledged to donate.
