Qi charging station performance

The charging time in which the battery of your smartphone is fully charged depends primarily on the performance of the charger. This is specified in watts and varies between 5 and 15 watts for the current models. Some manufacturers, such as Xiaomi, even offer wireless charging options with up to 20 or even 30 watts. For this, however, both the charging station and the smartphone must be from Xiaomi. In general, however, it should be mentioned that the charging time with inductive chargers is slower than when charging with a cable. Flexibility and comfort have their price.

Power supply output

In addition, the charging speed also depends on the power supply unit used. As with regular charging via cable, “Quick Charge” power supplies accelerate the charging process with inductive charging. The minimum requirement for charging via the Qi charger is a power supply unit with 5 volts and 2 amps. Then your smartphone will be charged with 5 watts. With Qi chargers with 10 watts you already need a “Quick Charge” power supply.

Note: Depending on the smartphone, the charging speed can be longer or shorter compared to other models.

Sometimes it is said that fast charging is harmful to the battery – but is that even true? Our Advisory video clarifies:

With some devices you can also purchase additional accessories such as travel cases.
