Charge e-cars for free: possible on Black Friday at these charging stations

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could fill up your car for free and drive around for free? Anyone who owns an electric car can actually do so on Black Friday. On this day there is free electricity at certain charging stations. You have to pay attention to two details.

On Black Friday: Charge your electric car for free at EWE charging stations

Black Friday is coming up and, as is well known, there are really good deals. Anyone who wants to supply their electric car with energy free of charge on this day should drive to an “EWE Go” or swb charging station. There you get free electricity on Friday. But you have to pay attention to two points:

  1. Free electricity for your e-car is only available between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.
  2. You have to read the QR code on the charging station with your smartphone in the camera app or a QR code scanner and follow the instructions.

Important: The free loading process can can only be started by ad hoc loading as described in point two. If you activate the charging station with your charging card or the EWE app, the process will be billed normally.

EWE and swb have a large number of charging stations in Germany. You can see the charging network on this map (have a look at EWE), but should be the Switch off partner charging stationsin order to only be able to see the EWE charging stations, where you can then charge for free on Friday. Depending on the capacity of the battery, you can save a lot of money.

Are other providers of charging stations involved?

Every now and then there were campaigns in which individual providers made it possible to charge the electric car free of charge for one day. In the case of the discounter, this is sometimes even possible on a daily basis. Black Friday is so far only EWE popped up with this idea. It would of course be great if other providers participate, so that you can basically drive the e-car for free on the day. Should something change in this, we will expand the article.
