■ Product introduction
The product to be introduced this time is the Turtle Beach RECON 500 Gaming Headset.
Turtle Beach is a global game accessories manufacturer headquartered in San Diego, California, USA. In 2019, it took over Rocat, a gaming gear manufacturer based in Hamburg, Germany, improving the lacking design and signaling the start of a new Turtle Beach.
The Turtle Beach RECON 500 is equipped with a patented 60mm Eclipse™ dual driver, with separate spaces to control the low and high frequencies respectively, boasting much improved audio clarity than conventional drivers.
This product provides a one-way noise canceling detachable microphone to deliver clear and stable chatting, and can be stored separately when not in use. The noise canceling is at the highest level, completely blocking external noise, and the fact that you can clearly communicate with the other party even at the level of whispering is the best satisfaction.
The soft memory foam ear cushions wrapped in a strong fabric material provide a comfortable and cool fit for your ears even during long game play.
Fully compatible with Xbox Series Xls & Xbox One, PS5™ & PS4™, Nintendo Switch™, controllers, mobile devices and PCs using standard 3.5mm jacks. However, please note that a splitter cable is required for use on a PC, which is sold separately. One more thing, a 1m 3-pole AUX splitter cable is presented when purchasing the product in the open market, so please check with the Turtle Beach customer center.

■ Fit and hearing test
The driver unit has a multi-joint design that moves up, down, left and right, and the headband has a structure that can be adjusted in length by 28 mm left and right. The cushion relieves the pressure applied from the left and right, allowing the wearer of glasses to comfortably use it for a long time.
In particular, if you are a user who is reluctant to wear a headset because of glasses, I would recommend trying this product. Personally, I rarely wear a headset because of the discomfort caused by glasses, but as a result of testing for several days while writing this review, I felt a high level of satisfaction.
The hearing test was conducted through listening to music and voice calls by connecting directly to a smartphone. First of all, it shows the advantages of sealed earpads that block external sounds for most people just by wearing a headset before playing music. I could feel the rich volume and treble and bass evenly, and the sound quality was also at a decent level, increasing immersion.
In particular, the microphone, which exhibits the highest level of noise cancellation, filters out external noise to perfection, and communication with the other party was smooth even at the level of whispering. A similar environment would be created in the situation of team chat during the game, but this provided high-quality performance that might be the best gaming gear for team play.
So far, we have looked at the Turtle Beach RECON 500 gaming headset.
Equipped with a patented 60mm Eclipse™ dual driver, it has separate spaces to control low and high frequencies, respectively, boasting much improved audio clarity than conventional drivers.

Using a wired 3.5mm standard jack, it is very faithful to the basics, yet has high quality and cost-effectiveness.
In particular, I would like to conclude the review with a strong recommendation for users who enjoy gaming mainly for team play, as it is possible to have a clear sound quality team chat with powerful noise canceling.
