Krafton Co., Ltd. (CEO Changhan Kim) announced the results of Weekly Survival Day 3 of the first week of the PUBG: PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS global e-sports competition ‘PUBG Global Championship (PGC) 2021’ disclosed.
On the 25th, the last day of PGC 2021 Weekly Survival was held at Paradise City Plaza in Yeongjong-do, Jung-gu, Incheon. Europe’s HEROIC, ENCE, America’s KPI Gaming, Spacestation Gaming, and Asia Pacific’s Buriram United Esports, who won the chicken out of a total of 5 matches, finally joined the Weekly Finals of the 1st week.
The Korean team, MaD Clan, ranked high in Match 1 and Match 3, but failed to get chicken and failed to advance to the Weekly Finals. The PCS5 Asian champion Petrichor Road also failed to secure a spot in the Weekly Finals.
The 16 teams that have confirmed the Weekly Finals in Week 1 will play a total of 10 matches in Weekly Finals of Week 1 on the 27th (Sat) and 28 (Sun). Weekly Finals are conducted according to the existing point rules, so both kill points and rank points are important. The winning team of the Weekly Finals will receive a cash prize of $30,000 and a place to the Grand Finals. Even if you can’t eat chicken, the top 9 teams will advance to the grand finals based on the points earned in the weekly finals, so fierce competition is expected to continue.
Meanwhile, the 16 teams that failed to advance to the Weekly Finals will play a ranking match called ‘Bottom 16’ on the next Monday and re-establish the rankings from 17th to 32nd.
Weekly series and Bottom Sixteen Match, including the Weekly Final Match on the 27th, can be viewed on YouTube, Twitch, Afreeca TV, Naver TV, and TikTok official channels at 7 PM. Through the code released during the broadcast, you can get voting rights for the winner prediction event ‘Pick’em Challenge’, and you can get free EP (esports points) from Twitch Drops and Pick&Go events on the Twitch broadcast channel. Prediction of the winner and purchase of special in-game items are available until 6pm on December 18th, before the start of the last match of PGC 2021. 30% of the PGC 2021 item sales revenue will be added to the total prize pool.
