Grappling hook glitch in Battlefield 2042 undermines all laws of nature

It has been known for a long time that Battlefield 2042 will bring some futuristic technologies – after all, it will also play a few years in the future. But what the grappling hook is currently doing puts all other military achievements in the shade. With it you can even cling to smoke and wind.

Of course, this is not actually intended, there is guaranteed to be a bug behind it. But until a patch fixes it, you can still try it out.

Storm and smoke

In Battlefield 2042, different laws of nature apparently apply at the moment than in our universe, as this video shows. The grapple grabs a tornadothat rages many miles away – and the specialist who is attached to it flies once over the entire map until the storm pulls him over the level limit.

And that doesn’t stop the bizarre grappling hook glitches. Because the tool can also cling to smoke, which you can even use tactically. All you need is a smoke grenade, which then becomes the anchor point for the hook. There is also video evidence for this:

At the moment, this application is even more useful than the actual purpose of the smoke grenades. The camouflage can easily be made completely useless by an exploit.

How do you use the grapple hook? Only specialist Webster Mackay can use the hook. By default, you activate the tool with the 3 key on your keyboard. You just aim where you want to cling to, then you will be drawn to the target. This is particularly useful for gaining altitude quickly or for escaping a precarious situation. Or to chase a tornado.

When and how DICE will fix this glitch is not yet known. The fix may already be in the next Update 3, which is supposed to be the biggest patch so far and promises many improvements.
