Cyberpunk 2077’s new soft launch? PR chief refutes rumor

Even if Cyberpunk 2077 after the Launchdebakel 2020 not only sold well, but has now also achieved a top position on Steam along with a lot of respectable reviews, not all fans are by any means with the role-playing game and the behavior of Developer CD Projekt Red satisfied.

So it’s no wonder that some rumors buzzing through the internet keeping track of updates, patches and even a alleged soft launch discuss the game. On too 4Chan began one of those rumors that spread like wildfire in no time.

What is the rumor about an alleged soft launch?

There a user published a List of informationwho deal with the future of Cyberpunk 2077 (buy now € 54.99) deal and predict a new soft launch. The user wrote right at the beginning of his post “Unfortunately I can’t tell you how I know”, meanwhile it is Thread has been deleted and the list just exists as a screenshot and on Reddit.

At its core, the rumor is that Cyberpunk 2077 will “re-appear” with the 1.5 patch. It is supposed to be one Soft-Relaunchwhere playing with the new Subtitle “Samurai Edition” and so represents the version that it should have been in the original release. This is supposed to be shown in one Live-Stream im Februar, where they also want to introduce a Cyberpunk 2077 anime.

The alleged leak was made already hotly debated, especially on Reddit. However, most of them agreed that the whole thing was more like one Fan wish listthan looks like an actual history list. However, there were one or the other Reddit user who thought the leak was plausible and that previous approach of CD Projekt Red interjected with the Witcher series. There, too, games were published again as “Enhanced Edition”.

What’s wrong with the Cyberpunk 2077 rumor?

Meanwhile, however Radek Grabowski, the PR-Chef of the Polish development studio, switched on and dreaming fans taken the wind out of the sails. On twitter he commented on the linked article of the Forbes Editors Paul Tassi, who also reported on the leak. Grabowski made it short and wrote: “Unfortunately, this doesn’t fit together. I’m sorry, Paul.”

So if the PR chief didn’t just happen to want to de-escalate the matter to the surprise not to be spoiled, so there is nothing in the rumor of a new soft launch of Cyberpunk 2077 as a samurai edition. Whether the Visit of the role play meanwhile still worth it, you will find out in our renewed conclusion a year after the release of the title.
