Matrix continuation? Keanu Reeves can imagine more films

Keanu Reeves wants to keep playing Neo

The Matrix Resurrections brings the old trilogy back to life. Return after 18 years Keanu Reeves als Neo and Carrie-Anne Moss als Trinity back into the matrix. Where the trinity of the original trilogy of the Wachowski siblings with Matrix Revolutions left off, Resurrections starts again.

And for many it raises the question of whether there will be more Matrix films. After all, the principle of the trilogy is imbalanced with a fourth film.

Leading actor Keanu Reeves spoke to the Empire Magazine on the prospect of playing the role of Thomas Anderson aka Neo again. In the unlikely event that the filmmaker Lana Wachowski Could be persuaded to do a sequel to The Matrix Resurrections (buy now € 23.99) Reeves makes it clear that “he’s there”.

No Matrix 5 planned

Unlikely in the sense that Wachowski has already made it clear that she has no interest in a new trilogy. In the interview, the John Wick star said that he doesn’t think it’s a Matrix 5 will give.

“If I had to cast a vote – no, not a vote, a rating. I would say Lana wouldn’t do another matrix.”

If a Matrix sequel was shot without one of the Wachowskis, Reeves wouldn’t be there anyway. When a sequel without the direction of the Wachowskis was announced years ago, he revealed in an interview that he canceled his collaboration from the start.

With Reeves’ statements from the interview, there should be no more questions about a sequel. However, these were not unfounded.

After all, the Wachowski siblings refused to shoot a sequel to their masterpieces for years. Lana Wachowski’s promise to make another Matrix film more than surprised fans as well as the actors.
