After Nvidia has confirmed a small refresh of the GeForce RTX 3080, in which the graphics card has more RAM and shader units, but also has a higher TDP, there is initial information on corresponding models from the partner manufacturers.
Refresh of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 with 12GB starts
MSI has officially informed us that the GeForce RTX 3080 12GB will be available in three cooling designs that are already known from other GeForce-based graphics cards. The Suprim series relies on a Tri Frozr 2S cooler that has three Torx 4.0 fans. The memory has specially adapted heat sinks.
The dual BIOS allows you to quickly switch between a quiet normal mode and a performance mode. The Gaming Trio series, on the other hand, works with the Tri Frozr 2 cooler and also three Torx 4.0 fans. There is also the Ventus 3X series with Torx 3.0 fans.
There are also model variants of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 12GB on the network, as our colleagues at PC Games Hardware report. For example a model from EVGA. At Mindfactory, one of the above-mentioned MSI models, namely the GeForce RTX 3080 Gaming Z Trio, appeared for just under 1700 euros.
That is 400 euros more than for the cheapest normal RTX 3080, which the online shop offers available from stock.
