Diablo 2 Resurrected: Blizzard starts PTR, Update 2.4 with ranking soon

Diablo 2 Resurrected receives a PTR. As Blizzard announced via the short message service Twitter, the public test server goes online today. The developers have not communicated a specific time. The PTR may go live in the late afternoon or early evening. In the Twitter post, the makers also give a first preview of the features to be expected. At the beginning of the PTR, the makers first want to test new backend server functions. At the launch, the new edition of the hack and slay classic had to struggle with the server infrastructure again and again.

Test update 2.4 on the PTR

It will be more interesting “soon”: Blizzard adds on Twitter that the big Diablo 2 Resurrected Update 2.4 will soon be able to be tested on the PTR in advance. A specific date is still pending, but a first patch preview is already available. One of the highlights is the ranking list, where you can unlock “a lot” of new rune words for the first time.

First class changes since 2010

“We want to make it clear that these runewords have not yet existed in the game. Also, like previous ranked rune words from the original Diablo 2, they will not be able to be used outside of the rankings,” announced Blizzard to announce the patch. In addition, there are balancing changes for the individual classes. You can find out what to expect with the first changes since patch 1.13c in March 2010 in our overview of Diablo 2 Resurrected Patch 2.4 at this link. At what point the new update will finally be installed on the regular server is not yet known.
